Benjamin Agbesi

Benjamin Agbesi is a Mechanical and Reliability Engineer with specialised expertise in asset integrity management, maintenance strategy formulation, and reliability programme development within heavy industrial manufacturing environments. He currently serves as a Reliability Engineer at CBI Ghana Limited, a cement and calcined clay production facility located in Tema, Ghana, where he self-initiated and continues to lead the organisation’s Performance Excellence Programme. This programme represents CBI Ghana’s first formally structured reliability function, governing an asset register across all operational plant units.

His core technical competencies encompass Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), condition-based monitoring (CBM), precision maintenance execution, and lubrication programme engineering. These disciplines have been applied systematically across the full asset lifecycle, from criticality ranking, failure characterisation, and degradation analysis through to maintenance task optimisation, planning, and KPI-driven performance governance. He maintains hands-on proficiency with leading Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including SAP PM, IBM Maximo, and Fiix, leveraging these platforms to support data-driven maintenance decision-making at the plant operations level.
His industrial foundation spans cocoa processing operations at Cargill Ghana Limited and, most substantively, CBI Ghana Limited, where he has built the plant’s reliability engineering infrastructure from the ground up. He is a committed advocate for the professionalisation and advancement of industrial reliability practice across the African continent.
