Murray Sittsamer
Murray Sittsamer is president of The Luminous Group. The Luminous Group is a people-focused, process-centric training and consulting firm. They help manufacturing companies address problems and challenges in quality and productivity.
Murray has helped hundreds of companies become more effective and efficient. He founded The Luminous Group in 1999, after leadership roles in engineering, operations, finance and quality. Murray became a ‘go-to-guy’ in the automotive industry for guidance on risk-mitigation, preventing warranty and scrap, and verifying process are conforming to prevent downtime and quality issues.
He has served on industry committees to revise quality and management guidelines and serves as an advisor to leadership groups at several Vehicle Manufacturer and Tier One suppliers regarding deploying, improving and sustaining strategies to get more things right the first time in product engineering and part production.
Murray has written and presented numerous articles and papers related to team-based quality initiatives. Prior to founding The Luminous Group, Murray worked for a combined 20 years at IBM, Unisys, and Pall Corporation, and two consulting firms.
Murray earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Administration (MBA) from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. Murray is married to a veterinarian and they have four wonderful daughters, a son-in-law and a Doberman. Murray enjoys hiking, cycling and spending quality time with family and good friends.
