Reliability is everyone’s responsibility and failure isn’t an option. Reliability starts with understanding the value it can bring to the organisation, having a clear asset strategy, and making sure people have the right skills. It’s about taking ownership of maintenance and looking after equipment properly: keeping it clean, lubricated, inspected, and doing the basics well.
We pay attention to early warning signs, understand how our machines behave, and use data and analytics to guide our decisions. That helps us improve maintenance, get more from our assets, and design or buy equipment with reliability in mind. And when something does fail or reaches the end of its life, we learn from the root causes so it doesn’t happen again. Continuous improvement and measuring progress keep the culture moving in the right direction.
Many sites have PM/AM pillars or excellence frameworks that explain what to do but not how to make it work. That gap is where reliability often breaks down, and where clearer guidance and practical application make the difference.
This is where I focus my time: helping teams make reliability practical, understandable, and applicable in their day-to-day work. My background covers vibration analysis, lubrication, condition monitoring, and wider asset reliability practices, and I use that experience to support people across maintenance and operations. The goal is always the same: clear processes, real skills, and consistent execution that improves performance.
If your site wants clearer reliability practices, stronger capability, and better results, I’m always open to a conversation.

About Maintain Reliability
Maintain Reliability helps manufacturing and industrial businesses improve asset performance and reduce downtime through advanced condition monitoring, reliability-centred maintenance, and data-driven improvement. Our approach — Detect, Solve, Improve — combines vibration analysis, thermal imaging, ultrasound, electrical testing, and leadership training to drive measurable results.

Reliability Gang
William is a co-host of the podcast Reliability Gang.
The Reliability Gang Podcast is a down-to-earth, practical show that dives deep into real-world reliability, condition monitoring, and maintenance culture. We talk about what really drives reliability in today’s industries — from vibration analysis and precision maintenance to leadership, mindset, and the human side of reliability. Our goal is to share stories, lessons, and insights that help others build a stronger reliability culture.
