Cliff Williams is a highly regarded Maintenance thought leader, and most recently – the Corporate Maintenance Manager at Erco Chemicals.  According to Cliff, the greatest maintenance and reliability challenge remains the same: Leadership, People and so Culture!

From apprentice to the ‘exalted’ position of corporate maintenance manager and every step in between Cliff has a confession to make. “The machinery I have met along the way, whilst impressive, has been forgetable. The people I have met …. well – the good the bad and I’m sorry to say the ugly, are what I remember. They are the ones who made my life interesting, rewarding and from a career perspective, successful”.

As we talk about the techniques and tools available to maintenance managers, let’s not forget the best two – the human brain and human initiative. Cliff  firmly believes if you can cultivate those two – the rest is easy.

The Godfather of Reliability: Christer Idhammar

Christer is a world-renowned expert within Reliability and Maintenance. His career began in the Swedish merchant marine where he started developing the fundamentals of his Results Oriented Reliability and Maintenance Management concept. During the last 40 years this concept has evolved during his time as mechanic crafts person, engineer, manager, consultant, educator, philosopher, reliability guru and company leader.

He is the author of literally thousands of articles and is the winner of numerous awards. Often referred to as the Godfather of Reliability, his memoir “Knocking Bolts” details his journey’s throughout the world and how those experiences directly tie to Reliability and Maintenance.
