The occurrence of one event or variable has no effect on the probability that another event or variable will occur.

Independent and Identically Distributed
A homogeneous group of data which are independent and randomly distributed in one common distribution.
Input factor
An independent variable that may affect a (dependent) response variable and is included at different levels in the experiment.
