step…
There is only one step left that we need you to do: confirm your email address.
It just helps us ensure that you are a real person and interested in reliability engineering and the Accendo Reliability site, not some spambot or worse.
Find this email in your inbox:
Note: If you don’t see it, wait a few minutes, and check your SPAM or filters (email clients are weird).
Open that email and click the button that says “Yes, subscribe me to the list”
That’s it.
The next time we send an email it will be delivered directly to your inbox.
You’ll receive a weekly update containing a listing of all the new content and plus feature highlights on the Accendo Reliability site.
This step can help too:
Add fms@accendoreliability.com to your contact list or to your email service provider’s white list of approved senders — that way our emails won’t go into your Promotions or SPAM folders.
This is part of the double-opt-in process to join the list. I do not like spam and this is one way to ensure everyone on the list wants to receive emails about the Accendo Reliability site.
Note: Your email is safe, we will not sell or share it with anyone, and you can opt-out anytime. You will receive a weekly update of all the new stuff on the site, that is all.
Welcome, and I look forward to our conversations and your feedback.
Cheers,
Fred
PS: Do let me know what areas you have an interest in or problem, and let’s sort out a solution.

John Paul Milanzi says
Hie Team
I am working on data with two variables namely ; soybean_variety and variety_attributes. there are four soybean varieties and nine quality attributes, and I have 103 responses. numeric values have been assigned to both soybean_varieties(1-4) and variety_attributes (1-9). I have used the following STATA commands to transpose the data: “xpose, clear varname format” “xpose, clear varname format”. however, I have the problem in figuring out the STATA command for Kendall’ W after transposing the data. Again, does kendall’s W work on data like in my case?
Urgent please
Thanks Researchers
Fred Schenkelberg says
Hi John,
not sure this is the right place for this question – might be better asking where the readers regular use and support STATA.
Cheers,
Fred

Hello Fred,
Just realized that I had known you from the HP days, though we had not really worked together. I worked with the VCD/DPT Vancouver teams, and I was part of the Singapore design center. WIth HP for 10+ years, until I figured I had to pursue my love for engineering elsewhere! Good to be back in touch!
I am starting to ramp up my understanding on electronics reliability for automotive applications now. And hence my interest in your website. I freelance / consult for start up companies on electronics design and product development, and I am based in India. At the moment, I am helping build up base failure rates for a company, and I am also exploring physics of failure tools for predictive analysis of electronic systems.
Regards,
Rajaram

Great to be back in touch. And thanks for finding the site and finding it useful. cheers, Fred
Mauricio Ballarotti says
Thanks, Fred. I am interested in developing a event fault analysis tree for building in terms of safety (fire, electric shock, collapse). Would you recommend something to start? Mauricio Ballarotti
Fred Schenkelberg says
Hi Mauricio,
Welcome to Accendo Reliability and I’d start learning about FTA and from there look for resources and examples that might be in the literature.
On Accendo Reliability we have a few articles – mostly basic introduction pieces – https://accendoreliability.com/?s=fault+tree
and you may find the NASA document on FTA of interest https://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.accendoreliability.com/nasa-fault-tree-handbook-with-aerospace-applications.pdf
Cheers,
Fred

Yunus Akgun says
Dear all,
First of all I am glad to be part of this community. Being active as FMEA-Moderator and -Facilitator for almost 20 years requires also kind of a recheck of my own vision on FMEA and to compare it with vision and inside of others.
Would love to ask some FMEA-related questions over here…
Yunus
Fred Schenkelberg says
Hi Yunus,
Glad to have you with the community – with your experience, please consider contributing content to share your knowledge as well as learning from others.
On FMEA – a great place to review what the site has and ask questions (there is an Ask Carl form near the bottom of the page) at
https://accendoreliability.com/fmea-resources/
This was originally done as a reference resource to supplement Carl’s book yet it also is a great starting point for those interested in the topic of FMEA in general.
Enjoy
cheers,
Fred

Hello.
I am a student , Studying Procurement and supply chain management and I want to learning more on project management.
Thankyou.
Fred Schenkelberg says
Hi Kyone,
thanks for exploring Accendo Reliability. The fields of project management and the area of procurement and supply chain management are large and important areas of study. While quality, safety, risk management, and reliability practices certainly are part of those fields of interest, there is much more to them than is covered here.
As a start, check out the articles by Tim Rodgers in https://accendoreliability.com/on-leadership-career/managing-in-the-2000s/
enjoy
Fred

Fred Schenkelberg says
Hi Ebenezer, thanks for the note. Yes, there is a lot to learn in the fields of project management and logistics & supply chain management. While the topics we cover at Accendo Reliability support those fields, we do tend to focus on a limited set of fields and try to provide excellent and comprehensive information.
