Women In Reliability and Asset Management (WiRAM) with Maura Abad
The presence of women in different industries is a growing fact that cannot be denied. They are now involved in fields—from management to engineering—that were considered solely to be men’s and they are doing these jobs incredibly and competently. There are a very few platforms that emphasize on empowering the women and providing them with content that they need to get better at their jobs and be a valuable asset to the organizations they work for. Still, there is a large number of women who are making transitions to more technical jobs and WiRAM is one of those platforms where women can get the educational content and training they need to handle the asset management work and get ahead in the reliability and maintenance industry.
Basically, Women in Reliability and Asset Management is a group that works to empower women all around the world to understand their role in the Asset Management field. The women in this group create awareness among the women who are working in the reliability and maintenance industry to understand how important it is for them to know more about asset management and reliability programs. The content that is shared in this group via webinars, videos, and articles is very informative and it gives the women, knowledge about the best practices that are used in the reliability centered organizations.
In this group, women are encouraged to learn and apply these learning to achieve operational excellence. Some of their objectives are to know other women working in the same field and help them to spread the message of this group around the world. For this purpose, there are webinars arranged, monthly to educate these women about the latest trends and topics in the industry. There are also face to face meeting where they get to know each other better. There are platforms for these women available to share knowledge and their thoughts about different topics.
They are being provided with a common space to increase their strength by inspiring them to be part of the webinars, panels, books, articles and many speaker’s spots. The women in this group also visit different institutes to connect with the women who are in the universities and want to choose meaningful careers for themselves.
They are told about the benefits of reliability and asset management and how they can be part of all this. They are encouraged to be an integral part of this industry and play their role with honesty and to respect other women who are working in different organizations. They are made understood the importance of communication and sharing the content with other people. How it brightens their knowledge pool and leads to successful endeavors for their organizations and adds value to their personal experience.
