SMRP18 – SMRP Conference Discussion w Fred Schenkelberg

SMRP18 – SMRP Conference Discussion w Fred Schenkelberg

This episode is about the learning and value that conferences hold. In SMRP 2018 conference, there were a lot of companies that participated along with their workers so that they learn something new. This yearly conference is a great opportunity for people who are struggling with different things in reliability and maintenance programs. There are presentations, workshops, and discussions all around from where you can learn to change reliability practices, improve, and sustain the process for a long term. There are a lot of new engineers or trainees who are looking for a field that would help them or catch their interest.

In this episode, we covered:

  • How was the 2018 SMRP Conference?
  • What is the value of conferences?
  • What were some key highlights of the conference?
  • What is changing in conferences?
  • And much more!

These sort of conferences and seminars help you learn what is out there? How companies are doing in the Maintenance industry? What kind of technologies are they using? What are some of the best practices they have for successful reliability programs? These sorts of questions are answered when you have all sorts of major and minor organizations around and they start sharing those insights and valuable processes and procedures that have helped them move along on their journey to success. Reliability isn’t just a single number that you can just get.

It starts small and then there are various stages with many values that you have to look for. When you are able to initiate something small based on what you need? And what is right for you? Then you can build upon it and then sustain that for the future. Everyone has to play a part and learn from time to time. It is a continuous learning process and platforms like SMRP help you figure a lot of things out in every field of reliability management. There are experts and new attendees from all over the globe who come, share and learn something in SMRP.

The yearly conference has been a successful event for many years and every year there are new companies and new attendees. They come in because they want to learn new skills and explore the knowledge that is out there in the industry. Learning starts from change management and to introduce change you have to start by creating awareness. That’s why conferences are so important and play a huge role in this endeavor. They help you adapt and implement until it becomes a culture. These kinds of events help you make sense of a lot of things that you have often done wrong.

They help you learn better ways to do things for better results. The best thing about SMRP conference is that you get to meet a lot of new people. You can build contacts, get help from the regular speakers, and just do the networking as it will help you in the Maintenance and Reliability business. Every year there’s something new to learn and meet the experts from all over. It provides a great opportunity for everyone and just like every year, SMRP 2018 was full of knowledge and experience.
