Eng. Shami Mudunkotuwa is a product of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa (UoM), Sri Lanka and a Chartered Engineer currently working for Ceylon Electricity Board. He carries a great exposure, experience and special interest in Infrared Thermography (IRT) Techniques for Predictive Maintenance and Building Services alike. To date, he is the most experienced Level III Certified Infrared Thermographer (as per American Society of Non-Destructive Testing – ASNT) produced by Sri Lanka.
With his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering (UoM), he is currently serving as a contributing member in the four member steering committee appointed by the National Centre for Non Destructive Testing, Atomic Energy Board, Sri Lanka for the purpose of the establishment of the first ever training course on Infrared Thermography in Sri Lanka.
Having ties and closely collaborated with many foreign professionals and institutions on the subject, with a vision, he is currently investigating the possibility in unlocking and expanding the industry potential for IRT applications in Sri Lanka to gain the maximum benefit to the national industries through the best use of IRT. His other areas of interest, expertise and enthusiasm lies in Establishment of Effective Preventive, Predictive Maintenance Programs for Excellence (RCM), Instrumentation & Control, Coal Handling Equipment and Process Maintenance.
