Why You Might Need a Break
I took last week off of work, not because I went on vacation, but because I needed time to take care of myself. I did fun activities, I had a few sessions with my coach, I slept as best as I could, I meditated, I did yoga and I took care of myself as best as I could.
As you know, I have been struggling with my mental health lately and self-care has never been a strong suit for me. I’ve always learned to suck it up and double down.
That’s not the way to high performance.
Of course, that works in the short run. That may even work for a few years but eventually, you’ll burn out. Eventually, you’ll hit a wall like I have. Eventually, you’ll need a break.
