Excellent presentation on Advanced vs Traditional Methods ! No disagreement.
One comment- with limited resources, the company has to decide priorities in terms of what type and level of reliability investment is called for. I have found it challenging at times to deal with the organization that has chosen arbitrarily what reliability methods are affordable. One company focused on MTBFs as the reliability tool of choice (I can hear Fred’s noMTBF cry), and they did not want to consider other methods.
But Carl’s presentation is spot-on, and gives great perspective !
